Time to wrap-up 2018 and look back on some highs and lows of the year in books. There were books I enjoyed and books I didn’t care for, but my overall reading experience of the year lands in the “just fine” category. It is that time of year where the end of winter is within reach but it still feels ways away. That leaves us with many opportunities to get cozy with a hot drink and a page-turning read. During the colder months I tend to enjoy a lot of mysteries and thrillers, but I am very much a mood reader, and some days I may feel like reading anything from science-fiction to a nice contemporary romance. A Year in Review: Favourite Books of 2017

IMG_5862“You must know that feeling when it’s raining outside and the heating’s on and you lose yourself, utterly, in a book. You read and you read and you feel the pages slipping through your fingers until suddenly there are fewer in your right hand than there are in your left and you want to slow down but you still hurtle on towards a conclusion you can hardly bear to discover.”

2017 was filled with a lot of wonderful books, and choosing the top favourites, as always, is not an easy task.
